The Bullock County Humane Society is urgently seeking a loving home or foster placement for Raggedy, a young dog currently experiencing kennel stress while staying at the shelter.

Raggedy arrived at the shelter on July 1, 2024, and staff members say he is a sweet and affectionate dog who would thrive in a caring environment. According to the shelter, Raggedy has begun constantly licking his kennel, which can be a sign of stress caused by long-term shelter living.

Despite his current situation, Raggedy continues to show a loving personality and gets along well with other dogs. He is approximately 2–3 years old, weighs around 42 pounds, and is already neutered. He is also up to date on vaccinations and receives flea and heartworm prevention.

Shelter officials say that because of the rural location of the facility, they rarely have many potential adopters come through the doors. However, transport is available for approved out-of-state adopters, with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska.

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering Raggedy, or arranging a visit to meet him and the other animals at the shelter, can contact the Bullock County Humane Society by phone or text at 334-672-5463 or by email at [email protected].
