The Union Springs City Council met on January 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the basement of the Bullock County Courthouse to conduct the city’s first council meeting of the new year.
During the Union Springs City Council meeting January 5, Marcus “Rudy” Cooper was recognized for over 30 years of coaching and mentoring youth in Bullock County. Mayor Smith presented him with an encased football signed by council members and coaches.
“Do you recognize these people?” asked Rahkia Nance, who shared this photo in hopes that someone might identify those pictured. The image, believed to have been taken in the 1950s or 1960s, comes from an album that belonged to her grandfather, Y.C. Nance.
Cherry Blossom arrived at the shelter on September 13, 2023, and after more than two years, she is more than ready to find her forever home and become someone’s best friend.
