The Bullock County Humane Society is searching for a loving forever home for Captain Morgan, an energetic young dog who has spent the past year waiting for someone to give her a second chance.

Approximately 1½ years old, Captain Morgan is a black-and-white terrier mix weighing about 35 pounds. She has been spayed, is full of energy, and enjoys spending time outdoors where she can run and play.

Shelter staff describe Captain Morgan as friendly, playful, and affectionate. She especially enjoys the attention she receives from volunteers, including David, who has become one of her favorite people. Because of her playful nature, she would do well in a home with another dog that can match her energy and become a companion.

Captain Morgan previously shared a kennel with Don Julio, who has since found a forever home. Now, shelter staff hope it will be Captain Morgan’s turn to experience the love and security of a family of her own. “She’s still young and has so much life ahead of her,” shelter volunteers say. “She just needs someone willing to give her the chance she deserves.”

The Bullock County Humane Society also works with rescue organizations and adopters across the country and can arrange transportation for out-of-state adoptions, with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska.

Anyone interested in meeting Captain Morgan or learning more about the adoption process can contact the Bullock County Humane Society by phone or text at (334) 672-5463 or by email at [email protected].
