On Sunday morning, October 26, tragedy struck when the home of 86-year-old Calvin Pruett was engulfed in flames while he was attending Morning Star Baptist Church in the Newtown community. The 911 call came in to dispatch at 10:50 a.m., and by 10:51 a.m., local firefighters, who happened to be conducting training exercises just down the road, were already on the scene.
