CSCS National Honor Society serves community

By Felicia Farnsworth

The Conecuh Springs Christian School National Honor Society took some time out of their Spring Break to be community servants. They helped at the Bullock County Humane Society walking the dogs, spending time with the cats, feeding the animals, and cleaning out kennels.

The students helped with a number of projects at the First Baptist Church. One project was helping file important paperwork, and they helped with a few beautification needs around Union Springs.

Public support of conservation efforts at State Parks improve natural habitats for wildlife and visitors

Smoke billows into the sky, visible to nearby residents and motorists as a sign that something is burning in the Alabama forest.

It’s a prescribed fire at Oak Mountain State Park, which sometimes causes alarm because the smoke can be seen from Interstate 65 or U.S. Highway 280, but it ultimately promotes a healthy forest and better recreational opportunities for park visitors.

March 29th is National Vietnam Veterans Day

By Faye Gaston

Whether active duty, retired, National Guard or Reserved veterans, they should stand tall and proud to be called a “Veteran.” We thank, especially at this time, the Veterans of the Vietnam War and their spouses who gave them moral support. We pray that God would ease their physical wounds, erase the terrible war memories, and give them peace.
