Bullock County Humane Society pet of the week!

Buckie came to the shelter during the end of hunting season in Bullock County, when so many souls get dumped or left behind as a stray. Buckie found his way to a home that brought him to the shelter. He is a male hound mix and shares a kennel with Friday.

Buckie was right at a year old when he was brought to the shelter and now has spent nine months in the shelter. He is up to date with his shots and one-year rabies vaccination and has been blessed to be heartworm-negative. He is on flea and heartworm prevention.

Bullock County Art Guild celebrates Christmas

By Linda Reynolds, President of Bullock Art Guild

The Bullock County Art Guild held its December meeting, hosted by Kathy Capps at her lovely early 1900s farmhouse in Fort Davis.  Guild members arrived at a porch guarded by two four-foot-tall nutcrackers. Kathy’s house was beautifully decorated for Christmas with a tree in her living room and another in her dining room. The aroma of hot spiced tea filled the kitchen as guests had simmering mugs before lunch.

Bullock County Humane Society pet of the week!

Griffin (like his sisters Fluffy and Fawkes) was found hiding in the pine straw bales at our local feed store. Griffin was the first kitten to be caught and only a few weeks old. He required bottle feeding until we could finally catch his momma, but by then he had imprinted on his foster momma and wouldn’t accept his kitty momma. Because of this, Griffin is extremely loyal and very trusting of humans. He is one of our “extremely socialized” and adoption-ready kittens. He is good with lots of different cats and dogs, house-trained and very loving!
