The City of Union Springs has replaced all four of its welcome signs, including the one located on Highway 29 (pictured above) as visitors enter the city from Troy. Identical signs are also located on Highway 29 near Sedgefield Plantation, Highway 82 East near the cemetery, and Highway 82 West just past Wayne Sanderson Farms. The signs highlight Union Springs’ unique distinction as the only city in the United States legally permitted to use the abbreviation “U.S.A.” in its name, while its red, white, and blue with stars design reflects community and national pride.
