A. T. Harris has been chosen Offensive Line Coach at Bullock County High School (BCHS).
A. T. Harris is a native of Bullock County and is a graduate of the Bullock County High School Class of 1989. Coach Harris attended Albany State University and Alabama State University, majoring in Physical Education and Recreational Management.

Mrs. Iona Pruett McMillian, a lifelong resident of Midway, Alabama, was born on July 27, 1927 to the late Joe and Iona Pruett Turner. She is the youngest of nine children. She was raised and continued to live in the original home purchased by her Grandfather, Ed Pruett, until recently she moved in with one of her sons.

The Alabama Youth Field Trial Association’s (AYFTA) Handler of the Year awards were presented at its annual meeting on June 24, 2023 at the Union Springs Country Club. A delicious steak dinner expertly prepared by Ban Stewart was enjoyed by all before getting down to business.

The Bullock County Soil and Water Conservation District recently sponsored a poster and essay contest for local students. More than forty students participated in the poster contest and thirteen students participated in the essay contest.

Alabama State Trooper Charles May pulled over a car being driven erratically. Trooper May placed the driver in the trooper car. Allegedly the driver overdosed on a mixture of Fentanyl/Xylazine. When Trooper May pulled over and gave him a shot of Narcan, the residue from the dangerous drug got on May's hands, and he also inhaled it. Trooper May almost died at the scene.
He has been in the hospital twice since the May 3, 2023 incident because he sometimes goes into respiratory failure.

Bullock County High School has a new coach for its football program. Montgomery native, Marques Gibson, was officially hired in early June after the Board of Education approved the hire.

Eddiemae and Darrel Parker share a very special birthday, July 4th, Independence Day. Eddiemae Parker is the Parker Matriarch, having celebrated her 87th birthday last Tuesday, alongside her son, Darrel, who celebrated his 57th birthday.
