Butters, a Terrier mix, entered the shelter on May 24, 2023, and has been patiently waiting far too long for a family of her own. Recently, she enjoyed getting out of her kennel for photos with volunteers Jan and Jo Anna, soaking up every bit of love and attention.

The Union Springs City Council met on January 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the basement of the Bullock County Courthouse to conduct the city’s first council meeting of the new year.
During the Union Springs City Council meeting January 5, Marcus “Rudy” Cooper was recognized for over 30 years of coaching and mentoring youth in Bullock County. Mayor Smith presented him with an encased football signed by council members and coaches.
