BCHS SGA expands leadership horizons through educational trips and team building

The Student Government Association (SGA) at Bullock County High School continues to provide students with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore new educational experiences, and strengthen connections within their school and community.

In addition to academics, Bullock County High School offers a variety of extracurricular activities and student organizations designed to help students grow as leaders and engaged citizens.

The Union Springs Police Department continues its efforts to maintain safety and security throughout the city. This week, Sgt. Cummings reported one accident, while Officers Penn and Harris had no incidents to report. Cpl. Lewis responded to a case involving the fraudulent use of a debit card.

Larkins accepts regional manager position after two decades of service

After more than 20 years of dedicated service to Bullock County, Department of Human Resources Director Tracy Larkins has accepted a promotion as Human Resources Regional Manager.

In her new role, which begins April 1, Larkins will oversee and support approximately eight to ten county directors across the region, marking a significant advancement in her career.

Bullock County Humane Society Pet of the Week

Misty may enjoy spending time in the play yard with volunteers, but what she truly wants is a place to call home.

Currently housed at the Bullock County Humane Society in Bullock County, Alabama, Misty first arrived at the shelter as a stray on March 23, 2023. At the time, she tested positive for heartworms. With the help of the Stand Up For Pits Foundation, which provided an Angel Grant to fund treatment for multiple dogs, Misty received the care she needed and successfully overcame the condition.

Bullock County hosts largest “Cruising to Clothe a Child” Car Show yet in downtown Union Springs

Downtown Union Springs was filled with the shine of polished chrome and the sound of revving engines as Bullock County hosted its 11th Annual Cruising to Clothe a Child Car Show. With pleasant weather and strong community support, more than 100 vehicles participated in this year’s event, making it the largest show to date.
