The meaning of the term “Plein Air” comes from the French term “in open air.” In reality it is the act of painting outdoors with the artist’s subject in full view. It is meant to experience the essence of choosing an outdoor subject and using the natural light, color and movement in your art during a prescribed art session. On Thursday, September 5, Bullock County Art Guild members experienced this first-hand. It was a day full of art, fellowship and experiencing a new method of painting for most who attended.
