Official results from the May 19 election have determined winners in several Bullock County races, while other contests will advance to runoff elections after no candidate received the required majority of votes.
In the race for Bullock County Commissioner District 2, Curtis E. Pritchett led the field with 879 votes. Joseph “Joe” Jernigan followed with 498 votes, while James “Al” Scott received 441 votes. Eugene Faulk earned 399 votes, and Robert “RC” Huffman finished with 331 votes.
Because no candidate secured more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters — Curtis E. Pritchett and Joseph “Joe” Jernigan — will face off in a runoff election.
In the Bullock County Sheriff’s race, Roderick “Pickle” Rover received the highest number of votes with 1,382. Danny J. Jackson, Sr. followed with 626 votes, while Ray Scott, Sr. received 382 votes, and Melvin Tyrone Grooms earned 212 votes.

The race for Bullock County Coroner was closely contested between Belinda Faye Mason Thorpe and Jermaine “Pokey” Watts. Watts received 1,352 votes, while Thorpe earned 1,065 votes.
