Littering in Alabama is considered a criminal offense, and fines can be as high as $3,000 or 100 hours of community service picking up litter along roadways, according to the Code of Alabama Section 13A-7-29. However, is a threat of a fine or community service really necessary if we just consider the consequences of our actions?
