Hiram “Hank” Williams was born 100 years ago on September 17, 1923 in the small rural community of Mount Olive, Alabama. At a young age he learned to sing in a little church in the community. He was raised in Georgiana from 1930-1934 where his boyhood home is still located, is preserved and serves as a museum. Williams lived in Greenville, Alabama from 1934-1937 and then moved to Montgomery where he met his mentor, Rufus “Tee-Tot” Payne and his career took off from there.
