A large tree blocked Antioch Church Road in Midway on Monday, May 25, after falling across the roadway ahead of afternoon rainstorms. Several community members quickly came together to clear the massive tree from the busy road, helping prevent residents from becoming stranded in their homes during the severe weather. Among those assisting with the cleanup efforts was Bullock County Commissioner Don Larkins.
Thanks to the group’s fast response and teamwork, the roadway was reopened before conditions worsened later in the day. Residents in the area expressed appreciation for the volunteers who stepped in to help keep the road safe and passable during the storms.
