Bullock County Alabama has always been at the forefront of history. In May 1961 the Rev. Martin Luther King visited Perote High School to encourage young people to get involved in the Civil Rights movement. One of Perote’s distinguished students was Charles Cox. When young Cox attended Perote, students graduated after the 10th grade. Cox went on to graduate from College and have a successful business career and raise a successful family.
