BCHS FTA students visit Faulkner University

On November 5, the Bullock County High School Future Teachers of America (FTA) chapter visited Faulkner University's College of Education Open House in Montgomery, along with other chapters from surrounding areas. During the visit, the students attended a chapel service, met with university students, and participated in a campus scavenger hunt. They also had the opportunity to explore the campus and learn more about college life and the field of education. The experience was both informative and inspiring as the students continue their journey toward becoming future educators.

BCHS reinstates Student Government Association after 20-year hiatus

The Student Government Association (SGA) at Bullock County High School has been reinstated this school year after a period of inactivity. The revival of the organization was a collaborative effort led by former principal Captain Whitlow, who emphasized the importance of student-led initiatives, and current SGA advisor Ms. Trimble. The renewed SGA aims to strengthen student leadership and foster stronger connections between administration, students, and the community.

Bullock County schools observe district-wide Suicide Prevention Day

Bullock County Schools recently came together for District-Wide Suicide Prevention Day, uniting students, faculty, staff, and parents in a powerful show of support. Dressed in purple, participants symbolized hope, strength, and compassion for those whose lives have been touched by suicide.

BCHS Juniors preparing for success!

BCHS juniors had a great start to ACT Math prep with Kristy Mann and Ashley Lovato, AMSTI-AU Grades 6–12 Math Specialists!

On day 1 students gained insight into the new ACT Math test design and received formula sheets to study (since they will not have access to one during the official test).

On day 2 students learned how to effectively use the DESMOS ACT calculator and worked through several ACT-like practice questions. BCHS photos.

Local churches show unwavering support as Conecuh Springs begins 24th school year

We are thrilled to announce the successful start of Conecuh Springs Christian School's 24th year, thanks to the incredible support from our community churches! Before the school bells rang, members of First Baptist Church (FBC) generously volunteered their time to ensure our campus was ready. They tackled bulletin boards, helped unpack and sort books, tidied flower beds, and completed other last-minute preparations.

Bullock County Student earns $1,000 Alfa Foundation Scholarship

News Release

Lott Putnam of Union Springs was recently selected as one of 100 recipients of the 2025-26 Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program. Putnam, a junior at the University of Mobile, received $1,000 to use toward tuition, fees, books, or supplies.

Since 2014, the Alfa Foundation has awarded $1,150,000 to deserving students through its scholarship program, which is administered by Kaleidoscope. This year’s recipients hail from 44 counties and will attend 22 institutions.
