In celebration of Arbor Day 2026, observed nationally on Friday, April 28, Alabama Forestry Ranger Mark Richardson teamed up with members of the Bullock County Soil and Water Conservation District, including Mike Rotton and Joyce and Stephan Turnipseed, to give away more than 1,100 trees to residents. The event was held on Wednesday, February 25, at the vacant lot adjacent to the Union Springs Library.
