Union Springs shooting suspect surrenders after multi-agency negotiations

Authorities in Union Springs had been investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday, April 26, around 3:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Tye Avenue.

According to Police Chief Johnny Potts, the incident began as a verbal dispute that escalated into violence, leaving 65-year-old Ronnie Tarver with a gunshot wound to the foot. Tarver was transported for medical treatment, though his condition was not publicly updated.
