Wesley McKinnon, Charlie James Martin, Jr., and Jessie Haynes, III are wanted by the Bullock County Sheriff's Department and the Union Springs Police Department (USPD) concerning the shootings on March 9, 12, and 14 in the City of Union Springs.
USPD Investigator Gary Lewis said, "One suspect has been arrested. Please call the police department at 334-738-3131 if you hear of neighborhood shootings. It is time for these shootings to stop. Don't wait for your house to be shot until you call. If anyone in the area of the shootings has cameras or knows any information, please call Investigator Lewis."
Wesley McKinnon, age 19, was out on a $75,000 bond for Attempting to Elude, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Manslaughter. McKinnon made bond with a bonding company. While out on bond, he allegedly was involved in another shooting. He is wanted for reckless endangerment, and other charges are pending.
Jessie Haynes, III, age 22, is wanted for Reckless Endangerment, Assault II, Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Vehicle, and other charges are pending.
Charlie James Martin, Jr., age 38, is wanted for Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Dwelling, Reckless Endangerment, and other charges are pending.
Sheriff Rodgers said, "They have guns and may shoot at anyone. Please be careful if you see any of these suspects. Do not approach them and call 911. If anyone hears gunshots, please report it immediately by calling 911."
Bullock County Sheriff's Department Chief Investigator Roderick Rover said, "Shootings are happening too often in our county. We need people in our county to assist law enforcement. Please help us solve these crimes before you or another innocent victim is shot. If you hear something, call us. If you know something, call us. We want to make our county safe."
Mayor Roderick Clark said, “To the citizens of Union Springs/Bullock County, we, as leaders and law enforcement, hear the concerns of our citizens and are diligently working to make our community safe. State aid has been granted to help assist in accomplishing that goal through more state trooper presence. I urge all citizens to communicate with all law enforcement agencies if any crimes are witnessed.
