Did you survive the Blizzard of 2025?

By Felicia Farnsworth

As the snow fell over Union Springs and Bullock County, it caused havoc on county roads and highways.

“The south isn’t equipped for this type of weather. I’m sure the Alabama Department of Transportation is doing all they can with sand, but the roads are in no condition for traveling,” stated Sergeant Grooms of the Bullock County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Rodgers warned, “If you don’t have an emergency, please stay home.”

Bullock County Humane Society pet of the week!

Narcissa was brought to the shelter at only one day old. She was brought in with her sisters and momma by a kind lady who rescued them. As she’s grown up, with lots of human interaction, she has become an extremely trusting and affectionate kitty. Narcissa loves to snuggle with her friends and sisters but hopes to find a family and a permanent home of her own. Narcissa has been vaccinated and spayed. She has been dewormed regularly and treated with flea and tick prevention, and she is litterbox trained.

~Inspired~ Northwestern Oklahoma State University – Lucky Me

Willie Spears

Attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. The small college nestled in the small community of Alva, Oklahoma consists of the nicest people you will ever meet. Over twenty of us came to Northwestern from Florida in the mid-nineties and I have sent over twenty students to Northwestern to attend college in the past twenty years. I have met thousands of people in my life, none are nicer than the citizens in Alva, Oklahoma.
