The Union Springs City Council held a public work session focused on community safety on Thursday, February 5, at 2 p.m. in the Bullock County Courthouse basement. More than 25 people attended the informative meeting, which brought together city officials, law enforcement, business leaders, and community stakeholders to discuss current safety concerns and potential solutions.

Union Springs – On Thursday, January 29, U.S. Representative Shomari C. Figures (AL-02) joined state and local officials and hundreds of community members at the first-ever Bullock County Resource Summit at Bullock County High School. The event, which was hosted by the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs, was created to provide free food, career resources, public health information, winter preparedness tools, and direct federal and state casework assistance to residents of Alabama’s 2nd District.

The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast was held Monday, February 2, at First United Methodist Church, with assistance from Union Springs Presbyterian Church, bringing together local leaders, clergy, and residents for a morning of fellowship, prayer, and community connection.
The breakfast and program began promptly at 7:00 a.m., with approximately 40 attendees enjoying a hearty meal that included quiche, mixed fruit, grits, bacon, and biscuits, along with coffee, water, or orange juice.
