“Enchanted Forest” comes to life at Bullock County High School Prom

Bullock County High School students stepped into a magical evening on Saturday, April 18, as the school hosted its annual Junior-Senior Prom under the theme “Enchanted Forest.” The event transformed an ordinary night into a fairytale experience, filled with elegance, excitement, and unforgettable memories.

Recently, Union Springs Mayor Ronald Smith was asked by Economic Developer David Padgett to read the book 13 Ways to Kill Your Community by Doug Griffiths.

In 13 Ways to Kill Your Community, author Doug Griffiths outlines attitudes and actions that can cause communities to fail, while encouraging citizens to do the opposite: support local efforts, embrace new ideas, and take pride in strengthening their hometown.

Great Hope United In Christ donates books to local schools

Great Hope United In Christ in Midway, Alabama, under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Dr. Michael O. King, recently gave back to the community through a generous donation of books to local schools.

On March 9, the church donated a collection of new and gently used books to the Bullock County School System and Conecuh Springs Christian School. The donation was made to support literacy and encourage students to develop a love for reading.

Conecuh Springs Christian School hosts Family Dance to support senior trip

Elementary students at Conecuh Springs Christian School recently dressed in their finest attire for a special evening of fun and fellowship with their parents and grandparents during a family dance held at the school.

The event, sponsored in part by Johnny Adams Law Firm, LLC, brought families together for an evening filled with food, music, and dancing. The dance also served as a fundraiser to help support the school’s senior trip.

9A Hometown celebrity visits First Grade class

Ms. R. Anthony, first-grade teacher at Union Springs Elementary School, recently welcomed a very special guest to her classroom. On Friday, hometown talent Johnathan Tarver, a 2002 graduate of Bullock County High School, returned to his roots to spend time with students and serve as a guest reader.

Bullock County High students get firsthand look at local leadership

News Release

Union Springs — Students in the Bullock County High School Future Leaders program recently stepped out of the classroom and into the heart of local government during an engaging day of learning and civic exploration.

The experience began with a tour of the historic Bullock County Courthouse, built in 1871 and recognized as the only courthouse of its kind in the state. There, students learned about the building’s rich history and the essential services it continues to provide to county residents.

USES - Recipient of the Literary Lift

Union Springs Elementary School has been selected as a recipient of The Literacy Lift: Building Capacity Through Evidence-Based Practices Grant through the Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI).

This opportunity was made possible through our partnership with Auburn University. Special thanks are extended to Andrea Forehand, Graduate Assistant Teaching Student, and Dr. Victoria Cardullo, Literacy Professor, for their collaboration and support in securing this grant.

Conecuh Springs Christian School celebrates Homecoming

The gymnasium at Conecuh Springs Christian School was buzzing with excitement on Friday, December 12, as the Eagles celebrated their annual Homecoming event. The evening featured a double-header basketball matchup against the Cahawba Christian Chargers, with both junior high and varsity boys taking to the court.
