Bullock County child nutrition staff attend state conference in Huntsville

As the school year draws to a close, the Bullock County Schools Child Nutrition Program was honored to attend the Alabama School Nutrition Association’s (ASNA) Annual State Conference, held this past May at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville—affectionately known as Rocket City.

Hormel Foods Corporation recalls canned beef stew product due to possible foreign matter contamination

Staff Reports

Washington -  Hormel Foods Corporation, a Tucker, GA establishment, is recalling approximately 256,185 pounds of canned beef stew product that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically wood, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The canned beef stew item was produced on February 4, 2025. The following product is subject to recall:

Jughead Art Class brings color and creativity to Union Springs Library

On Wednesday, May 28, the Union Springs Carnegie Public Library, in collaboration with the Bullock County Art Guild, hosted a Jughead Art Class for children as part of its ongoing “Color Your World” Summer Reading Program.
