Michael Hill, Senior Attorney, Alabama Law Institute, and Honorable Greg Cain, President of Alabama Probate Judges Association awarded Probate Judge James E. Tatum his second certificate of completion for successfully completing the “Basic Law for Probate Judges” course. The Alabama Law Institute and the Alabama Probate Judges Association administered this extensive course.

The Bullock County Art Guild held their meeting for the month of August on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at noon in the Josephine Art Coffee/Cafe. Those in attendance enjoyed fresh cut watermelon provided and specifically cut by Ms. Cathy Scroggins. Ms. Cathy saw a very neat way to cut the watermelon so you only use two fingers to eat it with, on the famous TikTok, and decided to give it a try.

All Bullock County Children had several opportunities to receive back to school supplies from many sources. That did not exclude those children and families that live in Midway, AL. On Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Harris Park in Midway, the CAMO (Children and Mentors Outdoors) Mentoring Program hosted its Annual Back to School Youth Summit. One hundred-eighty youth participated in an evening full of learning and fun in an effort to prepare for a successful school year.

Linda Brookins Hubbard, 79, beloved wife of Billy Hubbard, passed away on July 28, 2023, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Linda was born on April 8, 1944, in Columbus, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee Brookins, Sr., and Gaynell Renfroe Brookins; sisters, Betty Jean Brookins and Mary Lou Arnold; and brothers, Willie Lee Brookins and Ben Brookins.
