Career Tech starts beautification process

The new school administration at the Bullock County Career Technological Center is moving forward in a positive direction. Part of the process includes beautifying the campus. “We are the first school that visitors see when traveling through our county and we want people to see how nice our schools are and make them more presentable to the public,” stated Rebecca Ivey, Director of the BCCTC.

CAMO Kids attend STEM Global Action in Montgomery

On Saturday, September 2, 2023 more than 1,200 K-12 students, parents, caregivers and volunteers took part in the magic of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at the Techmgm STEM Fest held at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex in Montgomery, Alabama. Among those who attended were Bullock County’s CAMO (Children and Mentors Outdoors) Kids and their mentors.

Garden Club enjoys day trip to Eufaula

Seven members of the Chunnenuggee Garden Club took a day trip to Eufaula on August 17, 2023.  They enjoyed a guided tour of the Shorter Mansion and lunch at Oak and Alley Smokehouse.

This trip provided a diversion from recent global record breaking hot temperatures for Kathy Blue, Sharon Capps, Barbara Cox, Diane Culpepper, Karen Hall, Beth High and Sadie Pugh.

Bullock County Humane Society Pet of the Week

Mallie and Effie are a mother and daughter pair that were discarded at the doorsteps of the Bullock County Humane Society when their owners no longer needed them. Effie is mostly white with a few patches of gray and has light colored eyes, while Mallie is a brown eyed, gray and white, 3 year old, female pitbull who has been overbred, so much so that she had a vaginal prolapse that needed immediate medical attention. She is healed now, spayed, up to date on all of her shots, and heartworm negative.
