Union Springs American Legion Post 2016 swears in newly-elected officers

In May of this year the American Legion, Union Springs Post 2016 held their annual elections during their scheduled monthly meeting. Newly elected officers were sworn into office by Past Department of Alabama Commander Harry Christian on June 17, 2023.

Union Springs Fire Department receives emergency utility vehicle

The Bullock County Rescue received grants from Mid-South RC&D and the Bullock County Development Authority in September of 2022 in the amount of $29,270.00. These funds were used to purchase a 2022 Honda Pioneer 100-5 utility vehicle, trailer and materials to create a vehicle equipped to handle off-road terrain.

Bullock County Art Guild held monthly meeting

The Bullock County Art Guild held their monthly meeting this past Thursday, September 7, 2023 at noon. Cheese sticks and mini quiche along with beverages were served as refreshments. President Joyce Perrin called the meeting to order and the business portion began.

This beautiful pup is Ms. Bootie who was found as a stray in the Thompson Station area. The woman who found her lives in Ms. Bootie Smitherman’s old house, so the name is only fitting.

Pulliam, new Extension Agent for Macon and Bullock County

Antoinette Pulliam is the most recent hire of the Tuskegee University Cooperative Extension Program 1906. She was hired in May of this year and will work in both Macon and Bullock County as an Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent.

Bullock County celebrates Labor Day

This weekend Bullock County held a few activities to celebrate Labor Day. On the evening of Saturday, September 2, 2023 the Town of Midway celebrated with a neighborhood barbecue that was equipped with music, activities, and fireworks. This event was held at Harris Park in Midway from 6 until 9 p.m.
