Inmate deaths mount at Bullock County Facility

Just a mere nine days after the last inmate death of Christopher Rian McGhee on April 24, two more inmates have been found unresponsive and declared deceased by the attending physician.

Fiblast relocates, expands manufacturing to Bullock County

Fiblast recently announced the purchase of an industrial property located on March Street in Union Springs. The facility, previously owned by Gulf States International, consists of approximately 60,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space. Fiblast currently employs fifteen people with plans to expand to twenty-four employees by the end of the year. The company’s total capital investment in Bullock County exceeds $750,000.00.

Dancing Beats of Montgomery win four trophies at competition

The Dancing Beats of Montgomery took home four trophies in the categories of HBCU Stand Battle, Walk Thru, Field Show, and Poms in a competition held by the Dazzling Dymes.  “The girls had an excellent performance Saturday, May 4, 2024! They came and did what they were supposed to do! You had to be there to see it. Back in the lab we go…Next week competition loading,” was stated on their Facebook page. BCHS Prom- “A Night of a Thousand Lights”

Seniors at Bullock County High School were decked out to the nines on Friday, May 3, as they made their way to the school’s gymnasium. The school held a promenade for the students as they debuted their gowns and tuxedos before entering a fully decorated gymnasium.

“Keep in mind you can't have a testimony without a test,” he said as he addressed the large gathering on May 3rd in Birmingham. I had written a few stories about his amazing journey, but he looked larger in person than I had imagined. He talked confidently and gracefully as he was honored at the Heroes and Healers Gala that was presented by the UAB Trauma And Acute Surgery unit. It was last July when KD Hill was tested.

Balloon release for Child Abuse Prevention and Proclamation held at DHR

The morning was a windy one but filled with sunshine and blue skies as the Bullock County Department of Human Resources (DHR) held their annual Child Abuse Prevention Community Balloon Release and Proclamation Program. DHR staff encouraged the community to wear blue starting Wednesday, April 24 in efforts to raise public awareness about child abuse and neglect.
