On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the Bullock County Career Technical Center hosted its Founding DECA Induction Ceremony at 304 East Blackmon Street in Union Springs. The event marked a historic milestone as the school officially launched its first DECA chapter.

In celebration of Arbor Day 2026, observed nationally on Friday, April 28, Alabama Forestry Ranger Mark Richardson teamed up with members of the Bullock County Soil and Water Conservation District, including Mike Rotton and Joyce and Stephan Turnipseed, to give away more than 1,100 trees to residents. The event was held on Wednesday, February 25, at the vacant lot adjacent to the Union Springs Library.

Community members gathered early Monday morning, March 2, 2026, for this month’s Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, hosted by First Missionary Baptist Church. The breakfast began at 7:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Lewis welcoming attendees and introducing Union Springs Mayor Ron Smith.
