The Distinguished Young Women of Bullock County is part of a national scholarship program aimed at empowering high school girls through academic excellence, leadership, and talent. Fredricka Douglas, who ran while she was a senior in high school, is from Midway and holds the title for 2024. Aspiring to become a registered nurse, she is currently attending Troy University. In addition to her academic achievements, Douglas participates in her church choir and volunteers at a nursing home.
