Bullock County Humane Society pet of the week!

Don’t let the name fool you, Wild Bill is anything but wild and has an amazing story to share! Granted when he first arrived at the shelter, he was a feral cat, and many people were afraid to approach him. Slowly the staff won his trust and were able to gently rub his kind soul and begin sneaking him snacks to encourage his good behavior.

The Stagecoach Inn of Union Springs

By Joyce Perrin

It’s hard to believe that we traveled by horse, buggy, and stagecoach to get to work, home, family events, business, and celebrations. When we step back in time to around 1860 in Union Springs - we were just becoming a recognized town–still in Macon County then. Sounds easy until you consider that it takes several key events to make a town happen. Folks had to come here from more “civilized/developed” areas to build their futures.
