Union Springs is a town with a history, heart, and secrets. Near the old railroad tracks stands the last coal chute in the state, a towering concrete reminder of the trains, coal, and hard work that once fueled this community. Built between 1913 and 1925, it survived when nearly every other chute was torn down. It is more than concrete and steel. It is a symbol of what Union Springs was and what it can still be.
